1. Install error message: DCOM. "A newer version of
dcom98 has been installed........"
On Windows 98 release 2 Microsoft has found a bug involving OLE32 versions.
This shows up by not correctly installing DCOM98.
A fix for this is included in the Util directory of the install disk.
Run \Util\Dcom98.exe this will install DCOM and repair the bug. Weather-Pro version must
be 1.2.40 or above.
Then the standard weather-Pro install will run OK.
2. Install error message: MCIWND32.OCX. "MCIWND32.OCX was not registered
correctly......."
This file which is required by the weather-Pro program itself requires other
files to be installed. These other files are installed by Internet Explorer
version 3.02 or higher. This must be installed before installing Weather-Pro.
Internet Explorer version 4 is included on the install CD.
Run \Ie4\Ie4setup.exe. This will install IE4. Then weather-Pro will be OK.
3. Install error messages in WINDOWS XP.
During installation on some Windows XP machines the install program may
come up with some file errors (including MSDART). Click "Ignore" on these
and continue with the installation. The application will still install
correctly. This is repaired in version 1.2.69 and above.
4. Will not print from the datasheet report.
There is a file missing. It is "msdbrptr.dll". This should be in the
WINDOWS_SYSTEM
directory and must be registered. This bug is fixed with version 1.2.69 and above.
