Battery Replacement
The battery should last for 5 years. For critical applications the battery should be replaced in half of this period. The Battery Status is displayed in the Configeration screen of the Weather Watch Software. This display will indicate if the battery should be replaced.
The battery is located on the Data Logger Electronics Board which is in an enclosure at the top of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
Battery Replacement Procedure
- Support the veins of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Remove the three screws from the upper rim of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Lower the aspiration shield (radiation shield) from the Data Logger Enclosure (by about 50mm) ensuring that the cable loom is not stressed
- This will give access to the battery holder
- Remove the battery
- Replace with a TADIRAN AA 3.6volt High Energy Lithium Battery
- Remove the used desiccant pack located between the Data Logger Electronics Board and the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Place a fresh desiccant pack between the Data Logger Electronics Board and the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Visually check the Data Logger Enclosure sealing O-Ring located on the top of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- If there is any sign of damage this O-Ring should be replaced
- Check that none of the wiring looms have become disconnected or loose. The plugs are numbered 1 to 5 for the Weather-Pro and 1 to 7 for the Weather-Pro Plus. These numbers correspond to numbers beside the connector pins on the electronics board.
- Raise the aspiration shield (radiation shield) back up into the Data Logger Enclosure ensuring that the cable loom is not stressed
- Positive pressure will be required to seat the Data Logger Enclosure sealing O-Ring
- Replace the three screws in the upper rim of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Note the change of battery and desiccant pack in your Station Maintainance Log
