Anemometer
The Anemometer should be cleaned with a hot wet cloth to remove any dust or dirt build up and checked for correct operation.
Checking the Anemometer
- Connect the Weather-Pro weather station to a computer
- While watching the real time screen, slowly spin the Anemometer in an anti clockwise direction
- Check that the wind speed gauge on the real time display indicates a slow speed (as the station averages the Wind Speed readings, it may take 10 to 15 seconds for the reading to settle)
- Carry out the same test while spinning the Anemometer faster and note the increase in Wind Speed on the real time display
- Spin the Anemometer slowly by hand, feeling for any rough or tight spots
- Spin the Anemometer quickly by hand and look for any wobble
If any problems are found while checking the Anemometer, the sensor switch, magnet, shaft and bearings should be replaced. An Anemometer maintainance kit with all parts required and full instructions is available from your Weather-Pro agent.
