Wind Direction Vane

The Wind Vane should be cleaned with a hot wet cloth to remove any dust or dirt build up and checked for correct operation.

Checking the Wind Vane:

• Connect the Weather-Pro weather station to a computer
• While watching the real time screen, slowly move the Wind Vane to point south
• Check that the wind direction gauge on the real time screen indicates south [180deg] (as the station averages the Wind Direction readings, it may take 10 to 15 seconds for the reading to settle)
• Carry out the same test moving the Wind Vane to the East and West
• Spin the Wind Vane slowly by hand, feeling for any rough or tight spots

If any problems are found while checking the Wind Vane, the potentiometer and bearings should be replaced. A Wind Vane maintainance kit with all parts required and full instructions is available from your Weather-Pro agent.
