Quick Start

Unpack the Weather Station from the Box.

Check that the following parts are included:

Weather-Pro Weather Station
RJ11 to 9 pin D serial adapter
9pinD Male to 25pinD Female serial adapter
Weather-Pro Application Software CD Rom

Mount the weather station with the bracket provided so that the cross arm is orientated North South and the Wind Vane is to the North in the Northern Hemisphere and to the South in the Southern Hemisphere. (This is to ensure that shadows from the Wind Vane do not fall across the Solar Radiation sensor)

Connect the serial cable from the weather station to a spare serial port on the computer using the RJ11 to 9 pin D serial adapter. If the only spare serial port on the computer has a 25pin socket the 9pinD Male to 25pinD Female adapter, supplied with the station, will also be required.

Start the computer and insert the Weather-Pro Application Software CD Rom.

If the CD Rom drive on the computer is set to Autorun the Installation Menu will appear Automatically. Select “Install Weather-Pro Software”

If the CD Rom DOES NOT Autorun:

Start Windows Explorer (Right Click on the Start Button and select Explore)
Select the CD Rom Drive in the left panel of Windows Explorer
Double Click on the Setup.exe file in the right panel of Windows Explorer

This will start the installation process

Follow the Installation Instructions.

Once the Weather-Pro Application Software has been successfully installed it can be run from the Start Menu using Start > Programs > Weather-Pro > Weather-Pro

The newly installed program will use Comm Port 2 as the default port.

If the station is connected to a port other than Comm 2:

Select Tools - Options… from the Menu bar.
Select the General Tab of the Options… dialog box.
In the Communication Method box ensure that Direct Connect is selected
And Comm Port is set to the correct number
Click OK to save the new settings and close the Options… dialog box

If this is the first time you have used the program you must now create a new database

Select File – New ( the Open New dialog box will pop up)
Enter a name of the weather station you are about to connect to (eg Grey River)
Click OK

You must now request the computer to connect to the station

Select File – Connect from the Menu bar

If this is the first time the station has been connected to this computer you will see a “Weather Station and Database do not match. Do you want to re-configure the database to match this station?” message box.

Select OK

You are now in the Main Screen with the Weather-Pro station successfully connected to the computer.

To View or Hide the Real Time Display

Tool Bar – Eye Icon or
Menu Bar – View – Real Time Readings

To Configure the software so that it will open the current database and connect the weather station automatically each time the software is started.

Tools – Options…
General Tab
Select Autoload last database on startup
Select Open Communications at startup
Press OK or Apply to save new settings

To Start the Station Logging

Menu Bar – Control – Station Configuration then
Enter Station Identity and Logging Period in General Tab
Select Channels to be Logged and Reading Type in Logged Channels Tab
Press OK or Apply to Start Station Logging

To Download Previously Logged Data

Tool Bar - Computer Icon or
Menu Bar - File -Upload Data

To View Data in Data Sheet Mode

Tool Bar – Datasheet Icon or
Menu Bar - Report - Datasheet then
Select the required Date Time range
and the Channels you wish to view
OK to View Data Sheet

To View Data in Graph Mode

Tool Bar – Graph Icon or
Menu Bar - Report - Graph then
Select the required Date Time range
and the Channels you wish to view
Select Graphs - One for all Channels on one Graph
Select Graphs - Multiple for one Graph per Channel
OK to View Graph

To View Data in Summary Report Mode

Tool Bar – Summary Icon or
Menu Bar - Report - Summary then
Select the required Date Time range
OK to View Summary Report

To get Help on all Weather-Pro Functions

Menu Bar – Help – Search for Help On…

To Close the Weather-Pro Application

Menu Bar - File - Exit
