Checking the Weather-Pro weather station's battery
- Support the veins of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Remove the three screws from the upper rim of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- Lower the aspiration shield (radiation shield) from the Data Logger Enclosure (by about 50mm) ensuring that the cable loom is not stressed
- This will give access to the battery holder
- Use a multimeter to check the Voltage across the battery
- If the voltage is less than 2.7volts, this would explain the loss of communication and the battery should be replaced.
- see battery replacement
- If the voltage is above 3.3volts the battery is OK. It does not need replacement. This is not the cause of your loss of communications.
- Visually check the Data Logger Enclosure sealing O-Ring located on the top of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
- If there is any sign of damage this O-Ring should be replaced
- Raise the aspiration shield (radiation shield) back up into the Data Logger Enclosure ensuring that the cable loom is not stressed
- Positive pressure will be required to seat the Data Logger Enclosure sealing O-Ring
- Replace the three screws in the upper rim of the aspiration shield (radiation shield)
